Sci fi at its best. Or if you prefer, unusual futuristic mystery. Greg Mandel is gifted with some natural empathy and because of this he is fitted with biotechnology that makes him a living lie detector and is hired by Event Horizons to investigate corporate espionage in Mindstar Rising. A Quantum Murder takes place two years later when again Greg Mandel’s special talents are demanded by Event Horizons and its young owner, Julia Evans. This one involves a bit of a twist to the locked-room mystery. Both books are fast paced and sci fi fun. Everything takes place in a post apocalyptic world created by extreme global warming and not too hard to believe. What’s amazing is the innovative way people have learned to survive.
